Tilde Lerche Engstrøm er kunstner med interesse for det menneskelige liv og hvordan det kan leves og udtrykkes visuelt, musisk, poetisk og dramatisk. Siden hun var lille har hun haft en interesse for det at være menneske i verden og ønsket at forstå hvordan vi påvirkes af vores omgivelser, samfund, kultur, familie, sind, gener mv. Denne interesse er flettet sammen med hendes behov for at udtrykke sig kreativt på forskellige kunstneriske planer. Hendes hovedbeskæftigelse har været som billedkunstner, hun har udstillet mange steder og udført forskellige kommissionsopgaver. Sideløbende har hun arbejdet med både dans, skrivning og teater.
Tilde underviser i både Mindfulness, dans, kunst og keramik, og giver sessioner i nervesystems-massage og samtale-terapi.

Børn har en særlig plads i Tilde’s hjerte, og hun har en stor interesse og glæde ved at undervise børn og mange års erfaring - både i privat og kommunalt regi, samt under Statens Kunstfond. I hendes undervisning og kunsteriske virke kombinerer hun gerne alle sine uddannelser og erfaringer fra livet.
For tiden optager emner som kontakt, nærvær, hjælpsomhed og selvudvikling Tilde meget, både gennem kreative og terapeutiske processer. Tilde mærker et stigende behov hos mange for fordybelse, for at blive mødt og finde indre ro og glæde. Hendes studie MUTE studio (Art & Soul space) blev netop kaldt MUTE for at henvise til vigtigheden af indre stilhed. Tilde er sideløbende med sit kunstneriske virke overbygnings-studerende ved Dansk Psykoterapeutisk Institut og ønsker at inddrage ny viden herfra i sit kunst-terapeutiske virke/univers.

The suppression of the atomic bombs experienced by the Japanese during 2. World War gave birth to an enourmous creative imagination in the Japanese artists. A neo-pop culture arised with a unique focus on the minor, marginalized or childish, and the artists created a reality or self-identity re-experienced through fantasy that has also inspired many of my artworks, not least during my studies at the Manga faculty in Japan.
This sculpture of a business man is taking a break and staring absent-mindedly into the blue. The sculpture was part of a public art project in Lisbon, and its intention was to enable and motivate people to think alternatively beyond their rational logic. It is my belief that people in today's world before discussing and inter-acting should empty their minds, meditate and think reflexively in order to connect to something deeper within and outside themselves.
Our world is designed and ruled by capitalism and we people born into this world seem to have no other choice than following its mechanisms. Without being asked or without accepting it we are sold beforehand to this system and its logic. Like industrial commodities, produced in assembly lines, we are born to be bought, and reduced to be squeezed efficiently into its logic and reproduce it.
Reality is constantly changing, what was real years ago is not real today and what is real today was often considered science fiction in the past. I find it interesting to observe how the merging of the natural and the human/technological created worlds influence the concepts of reality and humanity in today’s world.
The term Non-state of Mind is a self-invented concept that I compare to a state of pure being, where a deeper, serene, more unified level or state of reality may be perceived. I consider the term as a fundamental and positive yet unrecognized part of modern human nature. The photographs are taken of people after they have been meditating for at least one hour. It was my aim to extract their non-state of minds in the photographs and afterwards to express this state in a painterly manner.
